The scratching of the Chris Hyland-trained Crabs from the 2010 The Metropolitan at Randwick on Saturday has seen a reshuffle of the odds with Mr Charlie firming into the equal favourite to win.
Consistent seven-year-old Crabs was a $34 chance at Sportsbet to win the $400,000 Group 1 The Metropolitan (2400m) yesterday, but has since been scratched from the spring feature.
Following the scratching, big bets have come in for Peter Moody’s contender Mr Charlie.
The New Zealand St Leger winner has had their price slashed from $4.80 into $4 at Sportsbet, now the equal favourite with Herculian Prince to win.
Gai Waterhouse’s five-year-old Herculian Prince was the clear $3.20 favourite in The Metropolitan betting yesterday but has drifted out to $4.
Other movers in 2010 The Metropolitan Odds include:
No Wine No Song shortening in from $7 into $6.50
Newport in from $34 to $26
Count Encosta cut to $15 from $17
Landlocked into $10 from $13
