Godolphin runner Magic Hurricane ($3.80) has returned to racing in slick form this time and remains clear favourite in 2015 The Metropolitan betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Almoonqith ($7) and Beaten Up ($7.50).

Will Magic Hurricane continue his slick run with success in The Metropolitan or will one of his many talented rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Orbec ($11)

French import Orbec has made a competitive debut to Australian racing this time and offers exceptional value for money at current The Metropolitan odds of $11 for success. Posting three wins and five minors through eleven career starts so far, the Le Havre entire ran on for second in the Merrylands RSL Club BM95 (1800m) on August 15th; progressing to third in the Listed Wyong Gold Cup (2080m) before running second in the Group 3 Newcastle Cup (2300m) last time out. Likely to receive a dream run from barrier 4, Orbec has been confirmed to be partnered by Zac Purton.

2nd

Bonfire ($15)

Trainer Gai Waterhouse is bullish of Bonfire’s chance for success in the 2015 The Metropolitan, but will need plenty of luck in transit on Saturday after drawing barrier 12. Returning this year for fourth in the Group 3 Hawkesbury Gold Cup (1600m), the Manduro gelding progressed to second in the Listed Winter Cup (2400m) before returning to the winner’s circle in the Listed Grafton Cup (2350m) on July 9th. Sure to have taken plenty of benefit from his return for sixth in the Group 2 Hill Stakes (2000m) on September 19th, Bonfire will be partnered by Blake Shinn.

3rd

Junoob ($11)

A proven performer over course and distance, Junoob charged home to win the 2014 edition of The Metropolitan before being stripped of his crown after being found to have been treated on race day. Posting tens wins and a further eight minors through forty career starts so far, the Haafhd gelding ran on for a credible fifth in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) on September 6th, and while unable to overcome a poor start in the Hill Stakes last time, will relish a return to a mile and a half in The Metropolitan.
